Playback Session

this listening/Q&A event allowed fans & collaborators to gain deeper insight into Kwame Adu's album conceptualization and creation processes. with a 25-minute runtime, Kwame Adu’s debut LP ‘Shinji’s Album' (2023) is chock-full of poignant imagery, concise wordplay, and fresh production. I ideated and hosted the playback session in collaboration with Pirate Studios to give the artist space to delve into his inspirations!

SUMMER SELECTS

a tastefully curated home experience post-covid lockdown (2021)

disillusioned by event shutdowns and venue closures, i decided to host a couple of house shows in my backyard during the summer of 2021. over the span of two nights with minimal marketing, i was able to entertain over 100 houseguests and pay all the performers!

music possesses this undeniable power to bring people together. it is incredibly important to me that i help facilitate meaningful connections among creators so as to encourage collaboration in an increasingly competitive art world.

Gearfest

a day-long music festical on usc’s campus

gearfest is usc’s black student assembly’s largest signature event of the school year. i was an executive producer for the 2020 iteration of the event, conceptualizing and executing that year’s theme - gearfest ascension.

Creative Experience

an art collective highlighting marginalized voices and emphasizing community by way of on and off-campus events, mixers, showcases, panels, and more

(2018 - 2020)

the fresh faces mixer/showcase is an annual gathering i spearheaded as executive producer of creative experience. the ethos of this event was to showcase newer artists and create a space for them to connect with each other so that all creators felt included, not just the “popular” ones within the close-knit community.

first fridays is an event series sponsored by ground zero, an on-campus performance venue at usc, in an attempt to increase student attendance after its temporary closure. here’s some footage from the show i co-produced for black history month 2019!
